Key Verse: John 17:20 

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who believe in Me through their word.” 

 Once a month I am blessed to be able to attend a pastor’s prayer breakfast. We usually meet at a local coffee shop and we are able to share about the highs and lows of ministry that we faced over the past month, while also praying for one another and enjoying a short devotional brought from one of the pastors. It’s a great time of fellowship and helps me recharge. However, as I reread this passage in John 17 this morning, it hit me that I need to not only pray for my fellow pastors, but I need to be praying for those who will believe in Christ as a result of their word. This is also something that we should pray for one another in the church. The job of evangelism is not just a job for pastors and missionaries. It is the call and responsibility of the entire church. Friend that includes you. So we need to pray for the disciples that God is using you to make. I need to pray that God would use you to lead people to Him, and then I need to pray for those who will believe as a result of your obedience. Jesus prays that those who believe as a result of the 12 disciples word will be unified. 

All in all, we need to be a church that prays for our new members and more specifically a church that prays for the new Christians in our fellowship. We need to pray that God grows them spiritually, gives them wisdom and guidance, and also that He helps all of us, young and old Christians to live in harmony.
