Key Verse: Psalm 59:16 “But I will sing of Your power; Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; For You have been my defense And refuge in the day of my trouble.” Most people have a morning routine that they do everyday. For most people their morning has to start with a hot cup of coffee. Others will start their day by watching the news, or catching up on the sports highlights from the night before. On a normal morning I like to start my day off with a warm shower. Here in Psalm 59 we see something that we should add to our morning routine, and that is singing to the Lord. Part of the psalmist’s morning routine was worshipping the Lord. He sang of God’s power every morning! We should do this as well! Why? The Psalmist did it because he knew that the Lord had given him such great protection throughout his life. The Lord was his defense against both evil doers and against the devil and temptation. This is just one of many reasons for us to start our day off by worshipping God. All throughout my life God has served as my defense, and He is more than worthy of my worship. I need to do a better job of praising Him each morning!
