Key Verse: John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”” I remember the day that first child, Zoey, was born. After spending Sunday night in the hospital, Monday morning came around and Oanh began dilating quicker. Before long it was time. Dr. Shea Moses came in our room and the delivery process began. After several minutes of pushing our sweet Zoey made her entrance into the world. I remember her little face and head full of hair. I that day truly was one of the most spectacular days of my life. That was the day of Zoey’s physical birth, but as great of a day as it was, an even greater day will be when Zoey is born again by the work of the Holy Spirit. What does it mean to be born again? As Jesus explains in John 3:1-8, to be born again is a spiritual rebirth. Jesus tells us that both physical birth (born of water) and spiritual birth (born of the spirit) is required for entrance into heaven (John 3:5-6). What exactly is this spiritual rebirth and why is it required? As human beings, we all, everyone single one of us have rejected God through our decision to sin. Our very nature is to be against God. We are enemies of God and enemies of the cross of our Christ. However, when we hear the gospel and believe it, God sends His Holy Spirit into our lives and transforms us. We then become children of God. We no longer are enemies of God with a corrupt and sinful nature. We have been born again, we have experienced a spiritual rebirth. This is only possible thought faith in the person and work of Jesus (John 3:14-16). Friend, have you been born again? Have you professed faith in the person of Jesus? After all, He is the Son of God, the lamb of God, who died on our behalf on that cross so many years ago. He was then resurrected from the grave because the grave could not hold Him because He was sinless. If you will believe in His work and in His person, you will be born again. As a result of this you will see your desires and your actions change!
