Key Verse: 2 Peter 1:3“as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.” Sometimes I talk with people who are struggling with addictions, or anxiety, depression, or any kind of similar things, and they seem as if they have lost hope. They simply don’t know how to overcome their current struggles. Here in this wonderful letter that we call 2 Peter, the apostle Peter reminds us that God has given us everything we need to live a good and godly life. We have access to a supernatural power, the very power of God. All who have placed their faith in Christ have access to this power. And it is this power that is going to propel us forward for Godly living. It is this power that helps overcome our addictions and struggle. Despite the access to this awesome power that all Christians have, many do not know how to access this power. Peter tells us in the next phrase. Peter says that we have access to this awesome life changing power through the knowledge of Him. Many Christians live in defeat, and spiritual malnourishment because they are not growing in their knowledge of the Savior, Jesus Christ. The more we learn about Jesus the more power we are given to live Godly. As we read and study our Bible, the Holy Spirit takes His Word and impresses it upon our hearts and strengthens our resolve, encourages us, and inspires us to live Holy for God. Friend if you are struggling to overcome your addictions or cannot deal your depression and anxiety I invite you to dive deep into the word of God consistently. As you do this you will find the supernatural power you need to live a Godly life!
