“The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi.”

Have you ever felt like you going to explode if you didn’t say what was on your mind? I imagine that we all have. Sometimes having something to say and not getting to say it can cause us to lose to sleep and even hinder our ability to do our jobs well. Well Malachi knew all about this feeling, but he understood to it a greater degree than the majority of us. Imagine that same burden, but the its not your words that you feel burdened to speak it is the very Words of God. Malachi as a prophet of God was called to speak whatever the Lord revealed to Him. Sometimes it would be a message of encouragement, but other time it may be a message of coming judgment from God. I imagine that Malachi felt both overwhelmed, and overjoyed to be the bearer of God’s Word.

Today I want you to realize that all of us should feel this same burden that Malachi felt in regards to proclaiming God’s truth. Sure we may not be an Old Testament prophet, but as Christians we are God’s ambassadors in this dark world. That means its are job to speak the words that God has told us to speak. It is our job to proclaim the goodness of the gospel, and that should both overwhelm and overjoy us. It should overwhelm us because we have this urge to share His gospel. It should overjoy us because God desires to use us in this manner. If you don’t feel burdened to share the gospel it is NOT because you are not called to do so, it is because you have likely drifted in your walk with God, and have chosen lukewarm Christianity instead of boldly following Jesus wherever He leads. The awesome, joyful burden of sharing the gospel falls to every Christian! Get out today and speak the truth of God’s Word!
