Key Verse: Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” It seems that each week I am reminded somehow of the brevity of life. Everything that is created fades away into death. That’s the effect sin has had on all that God has created. Trees fall, grass dies, flowers wither, and people grow old and die. Despite this, God’s Word remains. In a life that is constantly shifting and changing God’s Word doesn’t. In a world where everything is seemingly temporary God’s Word remains unchanged. It is there to convict us, comfort us, guide us, and remind what God says about us, life, and Himself. Our job is look into His unchanging word for what God wants to provide for us through it. When life seems overwhelming look to God’s Word for peace and rest, when life seems like it’s falling apart, look to God’s Word for stability. When life seems to be full of tragedy, look to God’s Word for comfort. God has given us all we need to live this life well in His unchanging Word. Read it!
