Key Verse: Matthew 4:19 

 

“Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”” 

 

As most of you know by now, I love fishing. When I get some free time I usually like to spend on the lake chasing bass. Several of Jesus’ original 12 disciples were actually fisherman. However, all of them became fishers of men. What does it mean to be a fisherman of men. To be a fisher of men means that you got out into the world and present the gospel to people in hopes of ‘catching’ them or leading them to Jesus. God wants all of us to be fishers of men. One of the main functions of the church is to go and lead people to Jesus. We do that by sharing the gospel. A Christian who is not a fisher of men is a Christian who is not fulfilling their purpose. 

 

Today I’d like to challenge you to look for people to lead to Jesus. Look at your school, your place of work, wherever you go look for opportunities to share Jesus. The more you look the more opportunities you realize you Have each day to share the gospel. Go and be a fisher of men!
