Key Verse: Philippians 3:17 

 

“Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.” 

 

If someone followed your example would they be more like Christ? If they lived their life exactly the way you do, would it be a life that pleased God? Most of us probably have areas in our life that don’t please God, and we need to get our act together so that we become a good example or pattern for others to follow. Paul was confident in the life he was living. He was confident that if people followed his example they would honor God. 

 

This morning I want to challenge you to take a real look at your life. Take a look at your habits, your thoughts, your hobbies, and so much more and be honest with yourself about the example you are giving to those who look up to you. Some people think that no one looks to them and their example. This is a crazy thought. I promise that everyone who is reading this has at least one person who looks up to them. If your a father; your sons look to you, and will likely follow the pattern you set. If your a teenager in high school, younger kids look up to you and will begin to talk and treat others the same way they see you talk and treat others. If your a mother your daughters look to you for guidance on how to be a lady. Does your dress, loyalty, and work ethic show them what it means to be a godly and modest lady? People are watching us! It’s up to us to follow the example of Christ, and give others a good pattern to follow!
