Key Verse: Galatians 2:10 “They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do.” It’s Christmas time and many of us have been busy shopping for our loved ones, and shopping for ourselves. If we are honest we probably spend too much money on trivial things for Christmas. Toys that will get played with for a few weeks, candy that will get eaten in one day, clothes that we will wear four times and other items that have no real long term value. While there is certainly nothing wrong with buying these gifts for our loved ones, we must remember something. It is the same thing Peter and the other disciples asked Paul to make sure to remember in his ministry to the gentiles. They asked him to remember the poor, which Paul says he was already eager to do. What about you? Have you truly been making an effort to remember the poor this Christmas? Have we as a church been making an effort to remember the poor this Christmas. It’s so easy to wrapped up the commercialism of Christmas and getting our kids and loved ones that one special gift that we end up forgetting those who are barely getting by during this Christmas season. We have people in and outside of our church who are going to have a tough Christmas season due to tragedies, losing their jobs, or from battling illnesses. Let us remember them this Christmas and give to them in their time of need. There is no better time than the Christmas season to show the love of Christ!
