No Key Verse: Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” Have you ever been ashamed of your faith? Most of us would answer, “No of course not!” However if we are honest with ourselves there has been probably been a few times when we were at least, ‘shy’ about our faith. Maybe we didn’t want to bring up the gospel in front of the people there because we wanted to fit it. Friends we should never shy, embarrassed, or ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Why? Because this gospel is the power of God to salvation according to Paul. This means that this message contains supernatural power. The Greek word here that is translated as power is where we get our English word dynamite from. This message has supernatural explosive power. It contains God’s power for salvation from sin and death! We have no reason to be ashamed of something so great! The power that is contained in this gospel is not available to some select few, or the rich or socially elite Paul reminds us that is available to all! All one has to do to be saved from the bondage of sin and death is to believe the good news of the death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Believing that He died a sacrificial death so they could have salvation through faith! Friends how could be ashamed of such a glorious, powerful message! Share the good news today!
