Have you ever thought, "If people just had enough — enough money, enough opportunity, enough good leadership — everything would be better"? 

It sounds reasonable. But Sunday's passage from Revelation 20 tells a different story. 

Scripture: "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness." — Mark 7:21-22 

During Christ's 1,000-year reign described in Revelation 20, people will have everything the world says they need — perfect leadership, no war, no hunger, no poverty. And yet, when given the chance, they still rebel. They still choose wrong. 

Why? Because as Jesus made clear in Mark 7, our deepest problem isn't circumstantial — it's internal. The human heart, left unchanged, will find a way to go wrong no matter the conditions around it. Jeremiah said it plainly: "The heart is deceitfully wicked above everything else" (Jeremiah 17:9). 

This isn't meant to discourage you. It's meant to redirect you. When we correctly identify the problem, we can find the right solution. And the solution isn't a better government, a bigger paycheck, or a different set of circumstances. 

The solution is a changed heart — and only One Person can do that. 

Application: Today, instead of blaming your circumstances for a struggle you're facing, ask yourself honestly: What does this reveal about what's going on inside my heart? 

Closing Thought: Jesus didn't come to fix your situation — He came to transform your soul. And that changes everything.
