This week we've established the problem: a broken heart. We've acknowledged the struggle: change is hard. Today, let's talk about what you can actually do. Scripture: "Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." — Galatians 5:16 (NIV) Notice Paul doesn't say "try harder" or "be better." He says walk by the Spirit. Heart transformation is God's work — but we can either cooperate with it or resist it. This all sounds great, but how can we actually walk by the Spirit each day? Here are three practical ways to cooperate today: 1. Offer yourself daily. Romans 12:1 calls us to present ourselves as "living sacrifices." This means that we are set aside our desires and become living offerings to God. Our only goal to please Him and serve Him. Each morning, even in 30 seconds, surrender your day to God before it begins. "Lord, I'm Yours today. Lead me." 2. Feed the right nature. Whatever you consistently put into your mind shapes your heart. Today, intentionally choose one thing that nourishes your spirit — a worship song, a psalm, a moment of quiet prayer — over something that pulls you away from God. Intentionality is so important in one’s walk with God. We have to intentionally feed our soul with the things that God will use to transform our heart. 3. Don't isolate your struggle. Sunday we were reminded that we were never meant to fight this battle alone, and we aren’t fighting it alone because we have God’s power living with in us. Cry out to God for strength in the moments you are struggling. Lean totally on Him for the comfort and power you need to break bad habits and addictions. Also, never forget that there are people in our church who love you. Find a trusted friend to talk to about your struggles so they can walk alongside of you and lift you up in prayer! Community is part of God's design for transformation. Heart change is a lifelong process — but it moves forward one day at a time. Application: Choose just one of these three steps and do it before tonight. Small obedience, repeated daily, is how hearts are genuinely transformed. Closing Thought: You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to take the next step — and let God handle the rest.
