“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” 

Monday is everyone’s least favorite day of the week. After a good weekend of fun and hopefully church:), on Monday we have to get up early and get back to the work grind. This often leads us to be grouchy and ungrateful for the many blessings we have in this life. In Paul’s letter to the church at Philippi joy is one of the overarching themes of the letter. Paul wanted the church to understand they could have joy, and he also wanted them to realize that he had joy even though he was in prison! I can assure that our Monday blues are nowhere as bad as Paul’s imprisonment! Yet he chose to have joy! He chose to rejoice in the midst of his trial. Why would Paul do that? 

He chose to rejoice because he understood that joy is not based on outward circumstances, but instead on his relationship with Christ. He knew he was heaven bound, and he knew that God was at work in his current situation no matter how bad it was. Because of that He had joy, and he chose to worship God. Would you choose to worship God today? God deserves to be worshipped even on the bad days because He has done so much for us!!
