Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 11:3 “But I fear that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your minds may be seduced from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” I have learned that most Christians love to talk about the devil. Everything that happens to them, or every time they choose to do something, its the devil. While I would agree that the devil is often behind the scenes pulling the strings on many of the events we see happening around the world, most of us need to quit talking about the devil and start watching out for him. Paul wanted his readers to be on the look out for the serpent. Here he is described as being cunning. This means that he is sneaky, he is slippery. Dear friends if we are not watching out the devil will sneak up on us and by his craftiness we will be deceived. Paul says he is worried about them behind seduced. If one is seduced, they are lead astray and deceived. The devil’s desire is to draw us away from Christ, and he will do attempt to accomplish this by any means necessary. This means in his craftiness he will use the TV, music, books, the education system, politics, and even your friends to lead you away from Christ. Because of this we need to constantly be on the look out! Don’t talk about how the devil made you do it, instead before you do it, pause and observe and see if the devil is in the details. He is a crafty one!
